APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #0599 FOR SECURITY SYSTEM: INSTALLATION, REPAIR, PARTS, AND CONSUMABLES
Description
Bids to provide 'Security System: Installation, Repair, Parts, and Consumables' were received from eighteen (18) vendors on April 14, 2010. The bids of Anixter, Inc., Comco, EarthCam, Inc., GSA Security, Inc., Graybar Electric, Integrated Fire & Security Solutions, Inc. (IFSS), Integrated Services Corporation, IRIS, Ltd, Inc., Seabreeze Security, Silmar Electronics, Southern Lock & Supply, United Security Alliance, Inc., and Vision Database Systems were the best low bids meeting the advertised specifications. Reasons for not selecting the apparent low bid are included with the bid tabulation. This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. The funds for these services are contained in the operating and capital budgets allocated to the Safety and Security Department.
Recommendation
That the bids of Anixter, Inc., Comco, EarthCam, Inc., GSA Security, Inc., Graybar Electric, Integrated Fire & Security Solutions, Inc. (IFSS), Integrated Services Corporation, IRIS Ltd., Inc., Seabreeze Security, Silmar Electronics, Inc., Southern Lock & Supply, United Security Alliance, Inc., and Vision Database Systems, to provide 'Security System: Installation, Repair, Parts, and Consumables' in an amount not to exceed $1,750,000.00, be approved for award and purchase.
